Owner/Director

Mary Jean Vallester

I am a teacher by profession, I graduated with a degree in Education, and pursued graduate studies while teaching in Secondary school. I have occupied various positions such as Master Teacher, Curriculum Writer, and Secondary School Principal.

In 2005, I decided to change paths and pursue early learning. Since then, I have worked as a Lead Infant Teacher for one of Seattle's child development centers, moved on to be the program supervisor at a different childcare center, and later I was recruited by a non-profit orgnization to be the director of their early learning center. Now, I have established my daycare with more than just a teacher. I am a nurse, friend, parent, helper and teacher.

I participate in various training seminars, the latest being in the HighScope Curriculum. Washington State requires I train on topics related to the care of young children. Feel free to ask me about my training. I will share any interesting things I learn.

Our Teachers

Joanna

Teacher Joanna is our afternoon Teacher.  She is enrolled at Shoreline Community College, and joins us at Little Hawks after her morning classes.  She is our Arts, Spanish & Music teacher.  The children are currently learning to play the drums and they love to play with her outside in the huge backyard.

Missy

Teacher Missy is our morning Teacher.  She has a Diploma in Elementary Education. Before she joined Little Hawks she worked both as a preschool teacher and an elementary school teacher. She has computer training that qualifies her as a Basic Computer Instructor as well as a Graphic Designer.  Little Hawks is blessed to have Teacher Missy for our children.
